a deeply profound contribution of intersectionality and intersectional analyses and action make to our (socialist-communist) struggles is giving us more effective tools to embody and produce two central aspects of powerful struggle and community: solidarity and trust.

if our solidarity becomes intersectional, it is not only more broad on a quantitative level but it is also qualitatively more well-founded and effective. it is harder, to be sure. it takes more energy, to be sure. but we don’t need to do it perfectly. the only thing we absolutely must do is show up and show that we’re “down with it”.

and when we can show this to be the case: that we’re “down with (fighting) it*”, not just because “it” is a relevant variable in our analyses, but because we realize that “it” is irreversibly and irreducibly interwoven with our central focus (capitalism), and we are therefore deeply committed to struggle and solidarity with those that suffer most under “it” – in order to end “it” – and we will remain committed even if the paths of individuals or movements are not yet significantly aligned with the struggle to end capitalism or if they stray momentarily from that alignment.
if we show that, if we show up, consistently, that is when we will be gifted with trust. trust we will need. trust we have always needed, but have too often neglected building.
